The hard anodized finishing make these insanely durable, keeping you turning over your 1x for years to come. The Retainer Ring is compatible with 9, 10, and 11 speed set ups. This is accomplished by using the ingenious narrow/wide tooth profile. The CNC machined 7075-T6 aluminum Retainer Ring not only holds perfect balance between lightweight and strength, but it completely obsoletes a front derailleur, eliminating irritating chain rub and drag. In other words, the alternating narrow/wide (or fat/skinny) teeth fit more directly into the narrow and wide spacing of a normal chain, ''grabbing'' the chain and holding it more firmly, even without the assistance of a clutch derailleur.
